High School Graduation June 10th

Graduation will be held in the girl’s spiritual living center at 10:00. Graduates need to be there by 9:30 in Sunday dress. Congratulations Class of 2011!

Devotional Speaker- Darin Adams 6/5

Darin Adams is the Co-host of Studio 5, a daily, lifestyle TV show on KSL-TV.  Studio 5 is the #1 lifestyle show in Utah.  He has been the host of the show for almost 5 years.  He’s met celebrities, and notable personalities, but most of the show centers around every day ways to make lives better.  That doesn’t stop him from having to run a 5K during the course of the show or having to down roasted giant carpenter ants.  All for the sake of making the show better.

The Martin’s- New Spiritual Advisors

Daniel & Laura Martin are excited to be serving at WRA as spiritual advisors.  Laura felt impressed to pay off their home and prepare to retire.  She felt something was coming up but never anticipated something this soon.  When the opportunity was presented they both knew that this is exactly what they were preparing for.

They have been married 15 years.  Between the two of them they have 7 children and 14 grandchildren.

Daniel was raised in Roosevelt and served an LDS mission to the Northern Indian mission he also served in the army for years.  He retired from the Utah Transit Authority in September.   His hobbies include woodworking and guns.

Laura grew up in Henderson NV.  She served in the USAF for 4 years, and just recently retired from her job in April.

 Grady played football at the U of U in 2004/2005 under coach Urban Meyer.

Shawn Bradley-New Chairman of the Board

Shawn is our new Chariman of the Board for West Ridge Academy.  He will be replacing Debi Gilmore who has done a wonderful job.  After retiring from the Dallas Mavericks, Shawn worked here for a couple of years as vice principle and the basketball coach so he’s very familiar with the program and has a great repore with the students. Seems like everyone wants to get their picture taken with him. 

May 15th Devotional Speaker-Heather Anderson Miss Utah 2007

Anderson won the Miss Utah USA 2007 title in the state pageant held in Kingsbury Hall on the campus of the University of Utah on 23 September 2006. It was her first attempt at the title, and she was crowned by outgoing titleholder Soben Huon of Provo. Anderson promoted drug education during her reign as one of her three brothers (Bradford) died of a drug overdose in September 2005.

Boys-Tuesday May 10th- 2:00-3:00 & 7:00-8:00-Gym

Our Talent Shows give the students an opportunity to showcase what they’ve been learning in class. Parents and family are invited if eligibility has been met.
