The boys soccer team ended their season with a double overtime loss to ICS 4-3. The boys played their best game by far and gave ICS a big scare. ICS scored first about ten minutes into the game, but the Eagles came fighting back and Regan S. scored on a penalty kick about ten minutes later. Right before halftime Levi W. scored a goal to put West Ridge up 2-1 at the half. The second half went back and forth with ICS scoring a goal to tie it up at 2. About halfway through the half Regan S. scored on another penalty kick to put the Eagles ahead. ICS then scored about ten minutes later to tie it up again. Our boys put tremendous pressure on their defense the rest of regulation and Levi W. had a great shot that was just wide with about two minutes left in the game. The first overtime period was back and forth with both teams having chances to score. ICS finally scored on a penalty kick that ended the season.
Our boys should be complimented on the way that they played yesterday. They could have given up early in the game but they chose to fight until the end. Most of the boys played the entire 95 minutes of the game. David K. made some great saves on point blank shots. There were boys that played positions that they had not played all year and did very well.
