Lexi Race To The BallLast night the Lady Eagles finished off the first half of their soccer season with a great win over the Lions of ICS. We were afraid that the weather was going to be stormy, but it turned out to be a glorious day for a soccer game. Our girls were motivated to play their best. They did.

The scoring was started by Michaela B. with a beautiful shot from the right sideline. The rest of the first half was pretty uneventful scoring wise, but we were very happy with the way the girls kept control of the ball. The defense did a great job. They were almost impenetrable. We have been working with them to keep the ball out of the middle. They applied what they had been taught and it kept ICS from getting many shots on goal.

We were able to score 3 goals in the second half. Michaela scored an even more amazing goal than she did in the first half. She scored from about 20 yards out by floating a majestic ball right between the goalie’s outstreched hands and the cross bar of the goal. Pandemonium ensued.

ICS scored a goal on a break away soon afterwards. But we answered as Kaline F. took a shot on goal that ricocheted off the goalie and Kaecia Y. was there for the follow through to put the ball in to the goal. Kaecia also scored another goal on a break away where she was able to beat the goalie and score on an empty net.

The girls were really excited about the way they played. As coaches we are really proud of them. They have worked hard and we are looking forward to the second half of the season.
