Some of our boys made fleece blankets and delivered them to The Road Home’s Emergency Homeless Shelter in
Midvale. Vernon led the project with help from Reed, Chandler and Josh. They wanted to do some kind of service project and decided to see what the needs were at the shelter. Vernon learned to make the blankets from his mother. With the help of their ecclesiastical leaders they bought the material and then tied each one.
The mayor of Midvale, JoAnn Seghini escorted the young men and explained what the shelter is all about. After seeing the circumstances of some of the people in the shelter they came away very grateful for their warm beds, meals and shelter. Today there were 76 familes consisting of approximately 230 people. And we think we have it difficult.
